Shosetsu is the micro-season when the first snow dusts the mountain peaks, the quiet prelude to winter. This malt and grain blend includes whisky matured in rare Hokkaido mizunara oak alongside ex-bourbon, sherry and red wine casks, all aged at least three years, and is bottled non-chill filtered at 48% ABV.It opens with a citrus-forward bouquet of candied lemon, pickled ume and sweet grain. The palate brings orange peel, smoky cedar and layers of texture that culminate in a complex finish of bitter lemon peel and vanilla cream.
